White Lions of the Timbavati

White Lion

As mentioned in my previous post, White Lions once again roam the Timbavati but this time they have arrived en mass. There are now currently 6 White Lion cubs that we know of in the Timbavati. This has never happened before and if the ancient Shangaan are to be believed all is well in the land. The White Lions have been seen as a good omen for many years and we hope this will be true this time around.

A hearty hello once again, and just back in civilisation for a few days before heading back to the bush again.

Still no rain, but what it does mean is that the predators are having a field day at the moment. Game is struggling and are having to take more risk’s to get to water and food and the big cats of Africa are cashing in. Leopards in particular, as so it would seem as on our last safari,as we managed to see at least 1 every drive and 1 managed to nearly put me on her menu… Read more…

Timbavati Safari

Greetings to you all! Dean and I have both just returned from our respective safari’s and what can we say, Africa has certainly put on her red dress! On Deans first day of Safari he came across 4 separate Lion sightings, 2 Leopards on Kills in Trees, about 16 White Rhino, a plethora of Elephants and 3 massive herds of Buffalo not to mention all the general game to boot. Not bad for 12 hours of safari in the Kruger National Park. Read more…
